With the health of a million people at stake, and despite thousands of signed petitions in favor of reform, Dave Camp voted against the will of his constituents. Dave Camp was presented with thousands of signatures urging him to vote yes. Instead he chose as always, to vote as his party dictated, like a puppet being controlled by big business. One lone Republican had the guts to stand up and vote in favor of reform, as demanded by his district. Representatives who voted in favor of H.R.3962 resisted tremendous pressures from the insurance industry lobbyists and passed comprehensive reforms. Dave Camp, despite voting no with the no party, then had the gall to put out a flyer outlining all of the good this change will bring about that he voted "no" too. Its time for the 4th District to come together and swing that million vote and replace Dave Camp if he continues to vote against the people who elected him. He has one chance, one last opportunity, to right the wrong he perpetuated on the voters and vote yes at the final House vote. Make no mistake about the healthy choices we the people can and will make at the polls. We deserve the secure, stable coverage proposed and worked on in the House. We want and need to leave a legacy of fiscal health and start reducing the deficit.
